Markers should be requested to fill in the sub-total scores for grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension and listening comprehension. This makes it easier to keep count and provides a useful record of the student's strengths and weaknesses in different language skills. The ANSWER SHEETS should be passed on to the class teacher for review.

The following MARKING TEMPLATE can be photocopied onto three or four overhead projector transparencies. This will enable three or four teachers or administrative staff to mark the Multiple Choice Placement Test. If you find it necessary to enlarge printouts from my sample ANSWER SHEETS and TEMPLATES, make sure they are both enlarged by exactly the same degree (%).

The photocopied transparencies are then placed over the ANSWER SHEETS.
Please note that each part of the test i.e. column is set on an incline of difficulty.
